Now that we shared our story of how we got to full-time farming, let’s dive into the juicy details of what we’re offering this season!  You are a big part of this so let’s go…

(If you are new to this blog, you can refer to this post and this one to catch up.)

The number one question we get asked every year… “Are you a U-Pick?”  We can finally say, “YES!!!!”  We are so excited to open a brand new u-pick field.  Actually, it will be a complete farm experience:

  • Pick your own flowers: dahlias, snapdragons, zinnias, cosmos, yarrow, grasses, cottage flowers...we are not your typical u-pick ; )

  • Visit and feed the farm animals: goats, pigs, chickens, cats, dog

  • Shop the farm store… wait, what?!  Yes, we will have a new farm store in our barn stocked with lovely botanicals: houseplants and garden plants for cutting, gorgeous ceramic pots, market bouquets, farm fresh eggs, dried flowers, tee-shirts, Ranunculus corms, our favorite work tools, and more.

Mark your calendar - Opening day is July 3rd!

We will be open July – Oct

Thurs, Fri, Sat

9:00am – 7:00pm.

Next up is our exciting new venture in wholesale:

French Creek Flower Collective

We formed a collective of 5 local growers to come alongside us and join our new Mobile Market.  Our goal is to bring more local flowers into our community via the retail florist shops.  Did you know that most retail florists and event florists use mostly imported flowers?  Over 80% of cut flowers sold in the U.S. are IMPORTED!  Why?!!!  We have so many amazing local flowers, so we hope to encourage them to buy local by visiting them every week with a truck full of flowers.  You can help this mission by requesting local flowers when you shop at your local retail florist.  Our growers are: Hopewell Flower Farm, Violet Hill Flower Co., Farm & Floral, Humble Bee Gardens, Bubbly Hills Farm, and Feel Good Floral.  We cannot wait!

Last but not least, our ministry, Petals of Grace – planting seeds of hope.  This is the reason for our farm.  We’ve been preparing for this since 2015 and it’s finally here.  We are so thankful for a great team of volunteers (thank you Livi and Jan) that are willing to devote their time to help us make this a possibility.  The main mission for this ministry is to encourage our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, as they walk along in their journey.  Our primary focus is with widows, families with disabilities, and families in foster and/or adoptive roles.

Petals of Grace - planting seeds of hope

We will begin the season with these 2 programs -

Sweet Seconds – lovely but unsellable blooms will be handcrafted into a beautiful bouquet and either delivered or picked up at the farm.

Fellowship in the Field – a reserved time together in the u-pick field connecting with others on similar paths.

We hope to have all the details ironed out within the next few weeks.  We have a page on our website for the ministry details. Please email us with any questions hello@hopewellflowerfarm.com

**Don’t worry, we are still designing for weddings, offering custom design work, retail market bouquets, and workshops.

We truly appreciate you and your support of our family farm business. -Steve and Leslie
